Dick Smith’s RSA Hartnett Medal

On 23 November 1990 at Government House, Sydney, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, presented Dick Smith with the Royal Society of the Arts Hartnett Medal for achievement, eminence and performance in Australia in the fields of arts, manufacture or commerce. The medal was established by the RSA to honour the contributions that Sir Laurence Hartnett made to commerce and industry in Australia. Dick Smith is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, commonly known as the Royal Society of the Arts (RSA).
