Two Years in the Aviation Hall of Doom (1984)

Dick Smith’s solo around the world helicopter flight had opened his eyes about aviation around the world. He left Australia thinking out aviation was the safest and most modern in the world, but had found overseas flying regulations were safer, more modern and based on common sense.

Dick set to work to bring us up to date – but was frustrated by resistance to change. Written in 1984, Two Years in the Aviation Hall of Doom called on the Australian aviation industry to resolve serious problems that existed at that time.
